Who would be the audience for your media product?

When doing my researching I found that teen films were aimed at ages between 11-16 and felt that this would be the right age grouped to target my film at and from the questionnaire I found that these types of films appealed to this audience. This meant that I aimed my film at Tweens and Teens as I felt that with this age I would be able to achieve a wider audience. I chose this audience as I found that they were the audience that were more likely to go cinema and buy merchandise creating high revenue for the film.     

 Looking into the BBFC at the film ratings I would have to rate for my film of a 12/12A I chose this rating as it would allow me to have a wide audience but with this it did mean that some of my ideas that I had I could not do such as drugs but by using the rating I hope that my film will be able to appeal to everybody in this age rage. If I was to do this again than I would look more closely at the 12/12A rating and workout if my plot could have been changed to fit in better. Through I felt that choosing this target audience allowed me to create a film that would appeal to a wider audience.

My audience for my product would be females which can been seen as when finding out audience feedback only females asked questionnaire giving positive back about the film put over that they would be the audience for my product. Also when creating the film I used different elements that would appeal to a female audience by using female characters and a situation that would appeal to them. When finding out what type of film my audience would watch in my research their were 85% female and from doing this questionnaire I was also able to know the demographic data, with my audience being E and D. Knowing this I was able to create a storyline that would appeal to them by including elements that they could relate to.
The main question that I aked that showed that this would be my traget audience was, if they watch teen films. With most of them asking yes then I was able to understand that this was the type of audience that would be appeal to my film and choseing this genre would create the right audience.I chose this audience as I felt that it was more likly that they would view my film. Knowing that audience before I when out and film, allowed me inculed elements that would appeal to them. Also telling me that they was an audience for the tpye of film that I was going to create.

Researching into the audience it allowed me to have an understanding as to what I need to inculed in my film. knowing what the audience liked also helped me when producting my film and editing it. Doing this reseach into the film gaivn me an idea as to what type of reseaching the film proucters do and the way in which it can effect the film. If I was to redo my reseach into the audience I would take a more indpeth look at the different things that appeal to them and look at the ways in which I can make my film appeal to a wider audience by inculde different elements and sub-genres.
