How did you attract/addres your audience?

I attract my target audience through different elements through out the film. These were mainly conventional as I felt that this would attract to my audience. From the audience feedback I found that the costume and location attract my audience to the film. From my research I found that keeping to the convention appeal to the audience and fitted in with the genre.  To help me know the different ways in which I could appeal to my audience I looked at different teen films and found that most of them used the conventions of the genre to appeal to the audience and being that they are well know teen films I felt that doing this in my film it would attract my audience. I felt that keeping to the conversion would appeal to my audience and gain a wider audience.

The costumes I used would attract the audience being that they clearly showed the audience the type of characters they were. The way in which I also costumes had elements that where un-stereotypical because I chosen not to use costumes that fit in with the styles. From my research I found that this was a way that film institution used to appeal to the audience. Through for my film using this type of costumes would not fit in with the type of characters and the way in which I was representing them.

The characters that I created for the film would attract the audience being that the audience watching would be able to relate the characters use. I chose to create this type of characters as I felt that it would make the film more realistic and appeal to the audience more. This was something I found out from my audience feedback with them being attract to the characters. They were also able to easily know the type of character they were, which I though was important to the opening and getting the audience attracted to what is going to happen.
Along with this I chosen to film at a school, this was as I felt that it would appeal to the audience being that they would be able to relate to what is happening, in that they can understand the location. Doing this meant that the audience would be able to know the plot. From looking at the audience feedback I found that most of them felt that the location was good, which shows the way in which choosing the right location plays an important part in the way the film appeal or attract the audience.

If I was to redo this course than I would look closely at different teen films and work out what I like about it and caring out more focus groups to help me work out the different ways in which I would be able to appeal to my audience. Through overall I feel that I was able to attract my audience through the mise-en-scene and the characters I created.

I felt that I was able to address the audience in the types of shots I used and the framing creating eye contacted with the audience allowing them to fill address and involved in the film. Doing this I felt was important in making the film appeal to the audience. If I was to do it again then I would use more close up so that the audience are able to see the characters reactions to what is happening. Through this is a technique that is used in soaps. I also address the audience through the use of the characters I tried to create characters that the audience would be able to relate to and understand. Creating believable characters is importuned in address the audiences as they need to be able to connect with them, this then helps them in understanding the plot of the film. I feel that the characters that I create were done in a way that the audience were able to relate to.

Looking at my film I feel that I was able to attract them in different way that fit in with the genre and reflected the plot of the film. I address the audience though different means but if I was to do this again then I would look more closely at the way in which I could address them such as using a voice over at the start which is something I found was used in the opening of different films.
