What have you learnt about techologies from the process of consturcting the product?

I used different technologies to product my film. Using a video camera and editing software these were the mean technologies I used to construct my film with. I chose to use my own video camera being that I felt doing this would be easier, as I would know how to use it better and not have to book it out leaving me freer as to when I can film. The editing software I used was PowerDirector this was as it came with the video-camera and fitting in with the software. I had used this software when film of my preliminary and felt that using it would allow me to create the right effect but I had issues when I trying to upload my film and putting in music.

The skills that I used in creating this product was being able to hold a shot steady, using a tripod to create this. Using this skill is important in making the film believable for the audience and in creating the right shot of the film in putting over the right representations of the characters.

From the audience feedback I found that this was something that was done well. Along with this when film I had to think about the framing of my shot including and excluding elements from the shot as appropriate for this I felt that I didn't achieve this skill as well as I wanted to being that I felt that some of my shots could have showed the characters better.

Here in this shot I found that I had elements that need to be exclude from the shot and making it inculed the charatcers better making here the crente of the shot. 

Where as with this shot I was able to create the right effect incuding the elemtenst that I wanted to over the rigth effect on the audience. I chosen to use this type of shot as I felt that it would show the audience the charatcers reaction to what is happening and help create empthy with the charatcers Lilly.

To create a the right represention of the charatcers I need to use different shot distances, using the right distances helps show the loaction and relfect the way in wich the charatcers are shown to the audience. I feel that with this skill I was able to put over different distances that helped the audience to relate to the film but with this I need to think claerly about how the distances relfects the phsyicalty of the charatcers and how this needs to be shown through using different shot types and distances.

When film I also need to think about the mise-en-scene looking clostly at the colours, lighting and setting befor filming I feel that I was abel to plan out the different elements of mise-en-scene but with this I felt that film on a sunny day would create the right lighting effects but when it came to filming I foud that it did not becuse of the loaction I  had chosen, this was something that my audience also found with the lighting creating sillute of Lilly. This shows that I need to develpmet this skill more.  Here showing that how it made it hard to see the charatcers.

I also used editing software which means that they were different skills involved with the editing such as making the meaning clear to the audience. I felt that I was able to better then in my preliminary task and from the audience feedback they were able to understand what was happening but with this I found that editing is still an area I feel that is not my best and the meaning could have been made clear to the audience. For the transitions use I felt that I was able to smoothly go from one shot to the next creating this making the opening more appealing to the audience being that the opening flows better but with this I found that I many used the same transitions for this.

Along with this with this I learnt about new media technologies, looking at the way in which I could use the internet to help with the product. Using social networking sites such as ‘Facebook’ I used this site to help gain audience feedback of my product posting my opening and surveys on the site to allow me to get a wider audience for them. Along with this I used the site to help me to organise my actors for my film. Using the site to make sure that they know when I need them to come and film. In real media social networking sites have be used for marketing and I feel that this would be  a good way in which  to market my film being that it’s cheaper and targets my target audience my audience more directly. Along with this I also used the site ‘Survey Monkey’ to create my survey for my audience research and to gain feedback on my film. I found that using this site allowed me to create professional questionnaires. Along with this creating them allowed me to put them on ‘Facebook’ and ‘Blogger’ being able to put them on these sites allowed me to get a wider audience to fill out the survey gaining a big response to my questionnaire. I also put my film on ‘You Tube’ I chose to do this as I felt that it would allow me to gain a audience for my film and it also allows them to comment on the film. Using this site allows me to embed the film onto my blog and then create a wider audience for my film getting more people to watch it.            

If I was to re-do the film I would do more researching into the type of technology out their. Being that in my researching I didn’t look into the type of technology I would use and look into the products that would create the right effect for my film. This is soothing that I would look into for my film to create a better product but with this I did learnt different things about the technology out their and the effects in has on the product and the audience watching the film.
