Focus Group

For my focus group I got together a group of people that are my target audience to watch my film and find out what they thought of my film opening. Putting together this focus group helped me to find out the strength and weakness for my product and the way it appealed to my audience. I asked my focus group for their feedback on the film saying what could have been done better, what the liked about the film, finding out the strength and weakness of my film. Getting audience feedback is important being that find out what my audience thinks about my film will help me.

What they said I did well
  • It flowed well from shot to shot meaning that the editing used worked well and the different transition fit in with the film.
  • The storyline was interesting this was because it was shown clearly and leads well into what going to happening. Makes me what to keep watching it.
  • The setting was put over clearly this was because of the shots at the start doing this help the them to connect to what is happening and understand what type of film it is.
  • It introduced the storyline well this they felt was important being that it made the interested to see what was going to happen next.
  • It was believable this was an important part in the film and was down to the acting and the way the characters were represented through the costume worked well.
What could be improved

  • They said they that there could be less shots of the school and more of action, doing this would make the opening more appealing to the audience keeping their attention.
  • Lighting being that you could not always see the characters well this was because of the weather and next time need to think carefully about the location and the effect the weather has.
  • Sound the voice of the of the actors were quite and this meant that they were unable to hear them well. I should have changed this when editing.
  • Less names this was as it became boring and lost their attention with the film.
