Lighting

The Lighting plays an important part in showing the convention of the genre and has an effect on the way the audience views and relates to the characters. For the lighting I plan to use ambient lighting in the opening as I feel that this will create the right effect in the opening. I chosen to use this as I felt that will make the scene more realistic, creating verisimilitude. The lighting also needs to reflect that the location of them being in the school which means that through I will be using ambient lighting their will also be high key lighting being that this is the type of lighting that can be found in the school. This type of lighting though will create positive atmosphere which is opposite to what is happening in the scene this will create a bigger imparted on this as the atmosphere created will make a safe place, showing school to be safe but the action will then show the conflicting atmosphere and how it is happening in daylight but on one is stopping it.

The lighting plays an important part in putting over the genre and the right effect on the audience. Using the right lighting is important in creating the atmosphere that fits in with the way the character is feeling, the location and what is happening. This is why I have carefully planed out the type of lighting I will use to put over the right atmosphere and creating the right effect on the audience.                                

Here is the typical layout of the lighting in uses in a film set. Knowing this will help me it workout what type of lighting I need to use and the way in which I position the actors to create the right lighting effect.
