Summarise of Findings

From the research I have done I have found out what type of genre of film I would like to do. From looking at the different genres for film I am was able to choose the film that I think I will be able to make the best. It also gave me an understanding as to how many different genres there are ands how they interlink. Once I had looked in more detail at the genre I was doing I was able to understanding what I need to put into the film to make sure that it fits in with the genre and appeals to the right audience. Here I also looked at the conventions used; doing this I was able to work out what type of teen film I would want to create. From looking into the conventions I had a better understanding to what needs to be put in and how using these I would be able to appeal to the target audience. Doing this research into the genre and looking at the conversions it helped me to have a wider understanding of what I will need to put in my film, knowing this information I will be able to create a successful film that will fit into my chosen genre and appeal to my target audience.

Then I looked into openings of teen films as I will be creating an opening similar one, from doing this I was able to see what I would need to do. Form looking at the opening I found that most of the films used the same techniques. Though the camera work being able to show the audience the location and how the main characters are. Also they used thought tracking to tell the audience about who the main character was going to be. Also within the sound they would add in music that would appeal to the target audience. I found that most of the plots used kept to the convention of a teen film, I feel that this is because doing these story lines it will appeal to the audience. Through to make my film stand out from others I will need to use a different story line. Also I found that the openings were the same in that they told the audience the location of the film, the main character and what was going to happen. When making my opening these are elements that I need to put into my film to make sure that the narrative is put across in a way that the audience will understand.

From the research I found out about the different conventions that are found in the teen film genre. The age of the characters and actors in the film is the same thought out the different teen films. This age is of a similar age of the audiences doing this helps them to connect them with the characters. This is because the conversational setting is at a school which helps the audience to also connect with location being that they know what it was. these were the main conventions that I found along with the plots in the film being similar though out all the film I looked at having issues with the family, relationship and going though a change in their life these are story lines that the target audience can connect with, making the film appeal to them.

From doing my research I feel I will be able to create a successful product, so I know what I need to include with the opening so that I will appeal to my target audience. Also helped me to have a better understanding as to what type the genre, making me able to create the right pieces that will appeal to the audience and follow or brake the convention in a way that fits in with the genre.
